LCCC Hosts Human Rights Pioneer and Expert Commentator in Arab and Palestinian Affairs on Feb 23 at 6:30 pm at Schnecksville campus.
Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will host a lecture featuring Bassem Eid, a Jerusalem-based political analyst, human rights pioneer and expert commentator in Arab and Palestinian affairs. His lecture entitled, “Pro-Israel, Pro-Palestine, and Pro-peace - a New Perspective on the Israeli-Arab Conflict” will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 6:30 p.m., in the Lisa Scheller and Wayne Woodman Community Services Center, Rooms 203-205, main campus in Schnecksville. This program is free and open to the public.
Bassem Eid spent the first 33 years of his life in a place of residence which became known as the United Nations Refugee Works Agency (UNRWA) refugee camp of Shuafat, rising to prominence during the first Palestinian uprising and was a senior field researcher for B’Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories. He spent many years doing human rights work, researching and publishing his works. Eid has traveled widely lecturing on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, attending conferences and receiving awards.
