LCCC Offering Spring 2016 Certification for Retired Law Enforcement Officers

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) is offering nationwide certification and recertification for retired law enforcement officers to carry firearms.

Through the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act (LEOSA), LCCC offers certification with an eight-hour class for a cost of $60. Classroom lecture on civilian use of force laws/decision making begins 8 a.m. at its main campus in Schnecksville. Class dates are March 26 and May 21.

A $30, four-hour recertification course will be held on March 19, April 23, May 18, and June 15 from 12 to 4 p.m. Students will attend a classroom lecture and test along with a re-qualification at Emmaus Police Indoor Range.

Students must have previously taken LCCC’s eight-hour certification to qualify for the recertification class (Retired Law Enforcement Officer ID Act Training).
