LCCC Offers Nurse Aide Certificate Job Training in Lehigh, Carbon and Schuylkill Counties

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) is now registering students for its Nurse Aide noncredit program, with classes being offered in Lehigh, Carbon and Schuylkill counties. This program prepares students for eligibility to take the PA Certification exam and be placed on the PA State Nurse Aide registry. Class times vary and are offered in the day, evening and on weekends.

The program provides the necessary hands-on clinical experience for those seeking a career as a nurse’s aide and related subjects, including medical terminology, infection control and functions of human body systems, as well as the legal and ethical standards of healthcare, residents’ rights and required nursing skills.

Classes begin July 11 at Carbon Career and Technical Institute, 150 W. 13th Street, Jim Thorpe, and Sept. 12 at LCCC Tamaqua, 234 High Street. Additional sessions are held at LCCC’s Allentown campus, 718 West Hamilton Street, beginning Aug. 29, Nov. 21 and Nov. 28.

Background clearance, health screening and TB testing are required before beginning the program. All paperwork and background requirements must be submitted before individuals are allowed to register. Text is additional. Class fee is $1,139 if paid in full before the class starts. Otherwise the fee is $1,251.
