LCCC Offers Small Business Job Training Courses for Fall 2020

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will offer certification and training for businesses or professionals in the following areas. All classes are held at LCCC’s main campus in Schnecksville, Pa.

Learn Six Sigma Green Belt will be held from Sept. 15 through Dec. 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) method, students will learn how to find the root cause of problems and streamlining processes in an organization using Green Belt. Cost of this class is $538.

Start Your Business runs on Tuesdays, Sept. 15 through Dec. 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Entrepreneurs will gain valuable information on developing an idea into reality, market research and market strategy, as well as understanding finances. Class fee is $110; scholarships are available.

Learn to develop ideas, file for a patent and capitalize on an invention by leasing your patent rights for royalties. Patent Your Invention is offered on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 10 p.m. Fee is $93.

QuickBooks offers small businesses training on managing revenues and expenses, working with payroll and bank accounts, monitoring budgets and inventory with reports and graphs and much more. Class will be held Fridays, Oct. 9 through Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., for a fee of $367.

Grant Writing Boot Camp is a class that will run on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 8:30 a.m. though 12:30 p.m. In this boot camp, board members, community volunteers and upper-level business management are all encouraged to join in and learn about research, develop grant opportunities, key grant proposals, types of funding sources and private donations. The total price is $222.
