Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) nursing graduates are granted acceptance to Harrisburg University’s (HU) Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) program thanks to an agreement reached between the two institutions.

The LCCC Nursing Students Scholarship is also included in the agreement, allowing LCCC students who earn an Associate Degree in Nursing and/or passed the NCLEX licensing exam to enroll in HU’s RN-to-BSN program at half the cost of tuition.

“We are pleased to partner with Lehigh Carbon Community College to provide this opportunity to nursing students,” said Harrisburg University President, Dr. Eric Darr. “This agreement provides a seamless transfer into HU’s nursing program and will help provide healthcare employers the trained and educated nurses they need.”

The HU RN-to-BSN program is an 18-month online program that builds on prior education and experience as a registered nurse with an associate degree or hospital diploma.

Students combine academic coursework with professional practice while completing the program. Coursework in evidence-based practice and science not only prepares students to meet every employer expectation for a BSN, but also preps nurses for a future graduate program. The practicum components include an emphasis on advocacy and provides students opportunities to gain practical experience in special interest areas.
