LCCC Partners with Workforce Board Lehigh Valley on Retraining Program for Displaced Workers

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) has partnered with the Workforce Board Lehigh Valley and Northampton Community College (NCC) on a job retraining program for workers displaced due to COVID-19.
The program, called Top Degrees Close to Home, aims to educate displaced workers about high demand jobs in the region and programs available at LCCC and NCC that will qualify them for these positions. The message is being spread across 30 billboards in the Lehigh Valley.
LCCC is specifically focused on programs in the areas of management and office skills, manufacturing and specialized programs. Programs available to displaced workers at LCCC include Fundamentals of Supervision and Management, accounting programs, Certified Production Technician, Medical Assistant Certification, and an Entrepreneurship and Small Business Specialized Diploma. Programs can be completed in as little as six weeks.

Various tuition assistance programs are available through Workforce Board Lehigh Valley. Additionally, Lehigh Carbon Community College students who have faced unexpected educational expenses or experienced financial hardship directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic while a student at LCCC can apply for emergency grants through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) act.
