LCCC's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Receives Regional and International Awards
Lehigh Carbon Community College’s (LCCC) Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Alpha Omicron Alpha, received numerous awards at the Middle States Regional Conference and International Nerd Nation Convention held earlier in April in National Harbor, Md. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is the international honor society for two-year colleges.
At both the regional and international level, chapters compete in the Hallmark Awards Program. LCCC’s chapter received the Middle States College Project Award, Five Star Chapter Award, Middle States Distinguished Chapter Award and Middle States Gold honors. The awards recognize both individual and chapter achievement.
At the International Nerd Nation Convention LCCC received the Distinguished College Project Award for the Pennsylvania College Completion Week Challenge which was held in October 2015. The purpose of the college project is to establish a supportive relationship between the chapter and college administration. A total of 1,952 entries were received for the Hallmark Awards competition and only 25 were awarded in this category.
