Lehigh Carbon Community College Plants Its First Pollinator Garden April 26-28

The Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) Sustainability Committee will host a three-day pollinator planting event, which will be a collaborative effort of students, faculty and staff to plant the college’s first pollinator garden.

The committee began planning the garden – which includes native plant species – in October 2016. The goal is to promote sustainability by working directly with the natural environment.

WHAT: The first day will be an indoor educational presentation and planning session followed by three days devoted to planting the garden.

WHEN: Planting sessions will be held:

  • Wednesday, April 26, 8 a.m. to noon
  • Thursday, April 27, 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.

· Friday, April 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Planting events take place on the tiered parking lot (Lot A) at LCCC’s main campus in Schnecksville, Pa.
