Lehigh Valley Piano Store Closing After Decades in Whitehall

JACOBS MUSIC WILL BE LEAVING ITS MACARTHUR ROAD LOCATION AT THE END OF MAY

Jacobs Music has made the difficult decision to close its store at 2223 MacArthur Road in Whitehall. The location was first established as a piano store decades ago and was operated by the former Taylor Music until 1996. At that time, Jacobs Music acquired the assets of Taylor Music, with its locations in Willow Grove and Whitehall, and continued to operate both showrooms.

The closing of the Whitehall location has resulted in an excess of inventory, which will be offered for sale at significantly reduced prices, presenting a unique, unprecedented opportunity to anyone considering a new or used piano. Starting at $699.00, pianos and digital pianos are available on a first-come-first served basis. There are new and used pianos by Steinway & Sons, Yamaha, Roland, Boston Performance Edition, Essex, and many other well-respected manufacturers. More information is available by calling 610-770-3588.

Established in 1900, the same year as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Jacobs Music Company remains the exclusive representative for new and authentically restored Steinway & Sons, and Steinway designed Boston and Essex pianos in Southeastern and South Central Pennsylvania, Southern and Central New Jersey and Delaware. Jacobs also represents many other highly respected new and used piano manufacturers from around the world, including Yamaha, Disklavier, Clavinova, and Roland. In addition to the Whitehall location, Jacobs Music Company has six other showrooms, including its flagship Steinway Selection Center at 1718 Chestnut Street in Center City Philadelphia, as well as Ephrata, West Chester and Willow Grove, PA and Cherry Hill and Lawrenceville, NJ. All other locations will remain open.

“Although the company will no longer have a ‘brick and mortar’ presence in the Lehigh Valley, Jacobs Music is committed to remaining a vital part of the vibrant musical community in the region,” said the company’s Senior Vice President, Bob Rinaldi; he continued, “Please be assured that our appreciation of and commitment to the region’s musical and educational institutions, music educators and their students, and pianists of all ages and level of accomplishment will remain as strong as ever. Jacobs Music will continually look for opportunities to be an even more active participant in the musical life of the Lehigh Valley.”
