Lewisburg Applebee’s hosts ‘Celebrity Service Event’ for Camp Cadet

Law Enforcement Officers trade their cuffs for a kitchen at the Applebee’s ‘Celebrity Service Event’ for Camp Cadet.

Lewisburg, PA – February 22, 2016 – The Rose Group, a leading franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar and Corner Bakery Cafe restaurants in eastern Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware, will be hosting its 10th annual Celebrity Service event for Camp Cadet at the Lewisburg Applebee’s location on Wednesday, Feb. 24 from 5PM-8PM.

Over one dozen local law enforcement officers will dawn the Applebee’s uniform to staff the Lewisburg Applebee’s serving, bartending and cooking during this fundraising event. All tips will be donated to Camp Cadet, a summer camp that introduces teens to the diverse criminal justice system and helps establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel, to provide food, lodging and uniforms for the campers. Last year more than $5,000 was raised, bringing the total donation to over $60,800 since the partnership began.

Established in 2004, Camp Cadet is a weeklong live-in camp where boys and girls ages 12-15 of Northumberland, Union, Snyder and Montour counties learn alcohol and tobacco avoidance, self-esteem, discipline, teamwork and violence prevention through military drills, classes, demonstrations and guidance from Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Officers. Due to the generosity of fundraising events such as the ‘Celebrity Service Event’, Camp Cadet campers are only charged a $35 processing fee.
