Tax Refund Fraud Under Investigation
A North Whitehall man's Social Security number was used to file a fraudulent tax return, state police at Bethlehem said. Tax refund fraud is a growing problem nationwide, according to an NBC report.

A 23-year-old North Whitehall man discovered in late March that his Social Security number had been used to file a fraudulent tax return in 2010, state police at Bethlehem said.
The investigation is continuing.
According to state police, the man, who lives on Wolf Hollow Road, made the discovery March 23.

Police did not say whether any tax money was "returned" to the identity thief or thieves, nor if it was, how much tax money.
