Schnecksville Students Raising Money for Food Bank

Three pupils are making and selling bracelets for charity.

When three students at Schnecksville Elementary School in North Whitehall decided to run a fundraiser to support their local food pantry, they had no idea how successful they would be.

Fourth-graders Liam McCary and Maggie Cygan and second-grader Lila Cygan have been making bracelets to support the Northern Lehigh Foodbank. They sell them to fellow students in the school’s bus lobby before classes start each morning, and originally hoped that they could raise $100 to support the food bank.

As of Monday, they had raised almost $1,100.
