Strawberry Acres Developer Tries Tweaking Proposal

The developer on Monday tried to adjust lot lines; the township tabled the matter.

Representatives of the developer seeking to build an active-adult community on part of Strawberry Acres appeared before the township Monday night seeking to adjust lot lines for the proposed development.

The township voted to table the issue.

The plan was shut down by North Whitehall Township Supervisors in early November.

In a sketch plan submitted Monday night, 5007 Overlook Road LLC proposed shifting 3.1 acres from an adjacent landowner to 23 acres the developer already has, The Morning Call reported. There is a township ordinance mandating that 55-plus communities have at least 25 acres.

The original proposal had called for a 55-plus, active-adult residential community on 23.6 acres of the 140-acre farm.

Patch previously reported that neighbors worried the development would change the character of their neighborhood.
