After All Those Storms, Will We Have a White Christmas?

After several big storms, missed school and hours of shoveling this month, we still might not have a white Christmas.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the historical probability that the region will have a white Christmas is between 11 and 25%. The NOAA looks at data from the past three decades when making its predictions.

Weather.com says that there’s a low chance that the Lehigh Valley will have a white Christmas, while there’s virtually no chance that Philadelphia and its suburbs will.

Local meteorologist John Bolaris of philly.com puts the probability of snow in Philadelphia and its suburbs at 10%. 

Last year, the region saw snow on Christmas Eve, but in most areas it had melted by Christmas Day.
