Antonella's Bakery Owners Selling Forks Business

Forks bakery has garnered reputation as one of best in Lehigh Valley.

The owners of a famed Forks bakery have decided to sell.

In a Facebook post this weekend to family, friends and customers, owner Antonella Gaglione stated that she and her husband decided to sell Antonella's Bakery, which opened on Sullivan Trail a year ago.

"I sit here with a heavy heart," she said. "It's very bittersweet for me. On one hand, we have built this amazing business that in two years has become one of the best bakeries in the Lehigh Valley and on the other hand it's so successful it leaves me no time to be the mom."

She said her last day as owner would be Feb. 24.

Gaglione opened her shop two years ago as Antonella’s Amazing Cakes next door to her parents' place, Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant at the Greenway Street Mall in Palmer Township.

"I grew up in the bakery business as a little girl with my parents who didn't have a choice but to work and not be in the audience for school plays, sporting events or something as simple as a relaxing weekend on the couch eating popcorn watching a movie," Gaglione said in the post on the bakery's Facebook page. "And I know if they had the choices that I have today they would have done the same for my brother and I."

She thanked her husband John for "giving me time to live my dream."

"And I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for your patronage, your friendships, your loyalty and constant support. You all gave me inspiration to become a better baker/decorator and I thank you for that!!  I know I've shared some tears already with a few of you and I hope to see a few more of you before I leave. I'm walking away very proud and privileged to have met you all," she concluded.
