Memorial Day

This weekend I received an email from a Forks Township resident currently stationed in Iraq. He was worried about the current series of car break-ins (reported in the Morning Call and Palmer-Forks Patch) and the impact on his family.  

This email brought back memories of my own extended deployments in the United States Navy Submarine Force and the impact on the many military families that are left behind.

Memorial Day is a good day to take a moment to remember the men and woman of our armed forces who paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our freedoms.  Additionally, take a moment to remember the military families that serve on the home front. Specifically, those military families that live in Forks Township with loved ones deployed in various parts of the world.
