"Black Jesus" involves an outsider artist from northern Mississippi who is discovered and exploited by a white art dealer from New Orleans. Marley has developed what he calls "paddle people." These "paddle people" are held up to the audience on paddles as each character's dialogue is read, thus identifying the character speaking.

Marley is a longtime playwright, author and visual artist. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.

Upcoming Event

Every Thursday evening is Sketch Night at the Lafayette Arts Building on 3rd Street in Easton. The arts building is on the left at the bottom of the big hill on Cattell Street.  It is the one with the very interesting brick work. The subject is live nudes, so discretion should be used when attending. The subject matter is one of the most challenging in art and this presents a great opportunity to learn and practice.
