Forks Supervisors Reverse Vote on Riverview Estates Tax Appeal
The Forks Township Board of Supervisors agrees to award Riverview Estates $3,325 in tax appeal.

The Forks Township Board of Supervisors has reversed course, agreeing that should receive a tax assessment reimbursement after all.
At their last meeting, supervisors voted against awarding a tax assessment appeal stipulation paying Riverview Estates $3,324.72.
But Solicitor Karl Kline provided with more information and his recommendation that, since Northampton County had agreed that Riverview Estates was overtaxed on six parcels, it was best to side with the county.

The board voted unanimously.
Kline explained to supervisors that the county had hired a third-party appraiser to review the proposal and decided that the figure was appropriate.

"The county voted to give them a return and I recommend that approval," Kline said.
He also stated that was a cheaper alternative than hiring an outside appraiser for $4,000.
Supervisor Bob Egolf thanked Kline for setting supervisors straight.
"Your information was very helpful," he said.
