Local Cheer Team finishes 10th in the Country

Easton’s Own Valley Elite Cheer Team finishes 10th in the Country.  Valley Elite All Stars, the only Lehigh Valley gym to send teams to both The Summit Nationals and the Cheer Worlds in 2014 earned 10th in the country with their Youth team, the Twizzlers.  Their Junior team , the Red Hots is also nationally ranked in the top 16 teams in the United States.

For Valley Elite owner Tracy Baker it’s not just about being a championship cheer team.  “We strive to help our young athletes to not only excel at our sport, but also to be well-rounded individuals.  Our cheer families are a close-knit group that support each other both in and out of the gym.  This develops camaraderie, family, leadership and respect.”  

Continuing to improve the team, Valley Elite welcomes coach Stacey Bouma-Johnson to the program.  Stacey joins Valley Elite from CheerForce Allstars, Ontario, Canada, moving her family to the Lehigh Valley to be part of this nationally ranked gym.  Along with Stacey, Valley Elites coaching staff all have years of experience and are credentialed by their governing body USASF, and each and every one of them bring something special and different to every athlete.

One of the ways Ms. Baker fosters her cheerleaders is through her community service program, Valley Gives Back.  All of the gym athletes are encouraged to participate in helping area community groups.  In the past year, they have participated in assisting a local women’s shelter, the recent Autism Walk at Dorney Park and up next is Relay for Life of Easton on June 13-14th at the Forks Community Center.

Now that the 2013-2014 Season has come to a close, there is no rest for the program.  The year-round gym is hosting clinics specializing in tumbling, stunting, jumps, dance, flexibility, and pyramids where any athlete can work to improve their skills before team try-outs on May 31st and June 1st.    The clinics give all local cheerleaders, recreation, school and all star, the time and coaching to help them work on skills to get help them on tryouts for their teams.
