Marshalls Grand Opening a Big Hit
Area shoppers were lined up and eager to preview the merchandise at Marshalls grand opening today
There’s a new store in town: Marshalls, to be specific.
The store, located on 25th Street in the Palmer Town Centre, held a grand opening this morning at 8am, and by 8:30am the store was buzzing with people. Managers were on hand to greet customers with shopping bags for their convenience and local residents came ready to shop.
So what can you expect?

Marshalls is an off-price store with 820 locations around the country. The store features women's, men's, and children's clothes and accessories, as well as home goods. We spotted brand names such as Adidas, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Good news for the guys: there's plenty of Phillies and Flyers gear priced at 50 percent of retail value. Since Marshall's works with many vendors, store inventory is expected to change weekly, and no two stores are the same. On opening day, the home goods section was popular with shoppers.
In December, officials for TJX Companies, Inc. the owners of Marshalls announced that the Palmer Town Centre location, would be moving in replacing the former AJ Wright at the same location.

A total of 91 AJ Wright stores across the US are in the process of being converted to Marshalls, Home Goods or TJ Maxx retailers.
Officials for TJX Companies are hoping to improve profitability. Last year, AJ Wright after-tax profit was about $10 million. It is estimated that $12 to $15 million will be spent for the conversion of the 91 stores, but annual earnings are estimated at $25 to $30 million.
