Meco Road Traffic Light is On

The traffic light at the busy Meco Road intersection in Forks Township went operational last week.

It came without fanfare or ceremony.

On Wednesday, after a decade of discussion, the traffic light at the busy Meco Road intersection in went on.

Red, yellow and green signals are now the norm where the road meets Sullivan Trail after months of construction work at the site.

"I'm pleased to say that the is now operational," Public Works Director Mark Roberts informed the at last Thursday's meeting.

"We finally got the light in," Supervisors Chairman Erik Chuss said. "I'm disappointed there was no ribbon cutting."

The work at the intersection included much more than adding a traffic light.

The light at the busy intersection was planned almost a decade ago.

Workers have been widening the road, installing the lights and adding turn lanes and curbing over the past three months.
