Meco Traffic Light Work Wraps Up
Forks Township engineer expects work at Meco Road intersection to be finished this week.

Work on the is nearing completion.
The Board of Supervisors received an update from Township Engineer Scott Muller at the board's recent meeting that the work was expected to be completed this week.
"The widening is done. Now we have to do the curbing and paving," Muller said. "Then the traffic signals will be on blink for a little while."

The light at the busy intersection, which connects with , was planned almost a decade ago.
Workers have been widening the road, installing the lights and adding turn lanes and curbing over the past three months.

Despite traffic delays, Muller said the project "has gone off with much less hitches than anticipated."
Township Supervisor David Billings wondered who will control the traffic signals as far as timing.
Muller stated that does review the signal patterns.
"As things pick up, they could change," he said. "So we'll have to analyze and do adjustments."
Supervisors Chairman Erik Chuss remarked that the township should hold a ceremony for the traffic signals.
He laughed that supervisors could stand in the middle of the intersection and cut a ribbon.
