Signal Work on Meco Causes Delays on Sullivan Trail
PennDOT warns motorists that work on the new traffic signal at Meco Road intersection in Forks Township will cause delays through June.

Public Works Director Mark Roberts updated supervisors on the project at their meeting Thursday night.
He said the widening of Sullivan Trail in that stretch is now happening for the traffic signal.

"We've had some traffic control issues," Roberts said. "We're going to have to bear with it."
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is warning motorists about delays from work on that intersection lasting through June 30.
The agency said the work, which is being done by Forks Township, is taking place between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"There is a lane restriction. A contractor is performing traffic signal upgrade work. Please use caution traveling through the work zone," a PennDOT spokesman said.
Forks Township Engineer Scott Muller said that there have been some issues with Met-Ed and Verizon regarding some underground work, but that things are moving forward.
"We don't have a drop dead date," he said. "Probably the end of June. If not, then mid-July. It's moving along quite well. Everyone has handled the job professionally."
The traffic light was supposed to happen eight years ago ... then two years ago ... and then by the end of 2011.
Residents have complained for years about the need for a traffic light at the busy intersection.
Township officials have stated that they believe the light is probably the most important traffic signal in town.
