Pizza Hut Relocates in Palmer

Spiffy new building on Freemansburg Avenue houses expanding business.

"The old place was falling apart--it needed lots of work," said Amy Squitieri.

That's how Squitieri described the former Pizza Hut store in the 25th Street Shopping Center.

The nationally recognized pizza chain was housed there for the past 30 years. Over time, problems developed with the stand-alone building, contributing to the decision to relocate the business.

A representative from Pizza Hut's corporate headquarters could not be reached for comment on what will happen to the former location.

The new building on Freemansburg Avenue features a drive-through window and five televisions inside to keep diners entertained.

"We had our grand opening here last weekend--on Saturday, July 2,"  Squitieri added.

Across from Aldi's in the former Crazy Jakes' Barbecue lot, the new place is only a mile or so from the old location. The restaurant is open seven days a week and serves the same geographical area that the old location covered in Easton, Wilson, Palmer and parts of Forks.
