Victim of Fatal Forks Crash Identified

East Allen Township man killed in crash in Forks Township Friday morning.

An East Allen Township man has been identified as the victim in Friday morning's crash in Forks Township.

Justin Roberts, 24, who lived on Colony Drive in East Allen Township, died in the crash that took place early Friday morning along Route 611, Forks Police Chief Greg Dorney said Monday.

Roberts' car collided with a dump truck around 6:30 a.m. Friday along Danser Hill Road in the area of Route 611. The dump truck driver suffered injuries as well. His status was unknown Monday.

Dorney said that the investigation is still active and a cause has not been identified yet.

PennDOT closed Route 611 between Frutchey Hill Road and Frost Hollow Road for three hours before it reopened at 10:15 a.m.

Roberts was pronounced dead at the scene and the truck driver was taken to an area hospital with moderate injuries, authorities said. The drivers were the only people in the vehicles.

Forks Township experienced a traffic fatality last November when a man drove his car into a tree, killing himself and his daughter.

Forks Township authorities have been busy of late, handling two fires in the past month.
