In an effort to be more available to the community, The Historical Society of Trappe, Collegeville, Perkiomen Valley has changed its tour schedule to start in April and continue through October on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
The community is invited and encouraged to visit the Society’s two historic sites in Trappe: The Henry Muhlenberg House at 201 W. Main Street (across from UCC Church) and the Dewees Museum at 301 W. Main Street (intersection of Main Street and Route 113). Guided tours will be offered by our volunteers from 1:30 to 4:00 P.M.
The retirement home of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, which is included in the National Register of Historic Places, has been restored to the period of 1776 when he resided there. It reflects the lifestyle of the Muhlenberg family with many artifacts depicting the period and others donated or on loan by his descendants.

History of the past three centuries is reflected through its many artifacts ranging from furniture, housewares, and farm implements to a Military Room spanning the Revolutionary War to the present day.

Several items from the second-floor Military Room are displayed on the first floor. The Tavern room is set up for dinner for an arriving traveler going from Philadelphia to Reading or other points west.
A popular ongoing Used Book Sale continues to interest our visitors.
