The Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day Parade Committee is extending an invitation to all area residents, groups, and non-profits and businesses to take part in our 2013 parade!  Last year over 1,000 area residents were in the parade, and several thousand watched the parade.  The parade is open to all to become involved, or to be a parade sponsor to volunteer.

To learn more, attend the 2013 Memorial Day Parade Kick-Off Meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 18th at Trappe Borough Hall, 525 West Main Street in Trappe.  The meeting will discuss all aspects of the parade and let you know how you, your family, business or organization can be part of it.  We also want to hear your ideas for the parade, and we greatly welcome all potential sponsors and volunteers.

The theme of this year’s parade is “Patriotic Music.”  Your floats or banners can take inspiration from such musical classics as “America the Beautiful,” Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “The Caisson Song,” “Yankee Doodle,” or lesser known songs.  For 2013 we are emphasizing the importance of honoring our veterans and present day Armed Forces personnel.

The 2013 Memorial Day parade will take place on Monday, May 27th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Augustus Lutheran Church in Trappe, and continuing down Main Street to First Avenue.  It will end at noon at Waterworks Park, where a special Memorial Observance will be held.
