Growing Change - One Vegetable at a Time
This past Saturday, July 7, PV High School Take Action volunteers braved the oppressive heat (just like our regular vendors and loyal customers) and had a successful first day at the market.
Collegeville Farmers' Market is proud to welcome PV Produce, an initiative by Perkiomen Valley High School's Take Action (environmental advocacy) group.
While selling veggies at our market, the group will be spreading the word about environmental issues and how to make positive changes.
They will be selling produce grown in the organic garden they began at the school this spring. Since then, they have taken turns tending, weeding, watering and learning. The garden is on school grounds and funded by donations from the community.

They stopped by the market on June 30 for a visit and to attend a workshop on organic gardening by the 4-H Penn State Cooperative Extension and to learn about how the market is set up every week and how vendors bring thier products to sell.
This past Saturday, July 7, they braved the oppressive heat (just like our regular vendors and loyal customers), and they had a successful first day at the market, selling: squash, cucumbers, beans and greens.
