In a showdown for the rights to first place in the Montco 14/15 y/o American Legion, the Perk Valley Raiders (10-1) hosted Wissahickon (9-2) on Wednesday night at Perk Valley High School.

Liam Grande started the game on the mound for the Raiders and singled in his only at bat then departed the game w/ an aggravated leg injury.  Sean Moriarity came on in relief to carry the Raiders to a 13-6 pummeling of their foes with a strong game at the plate and on the mound.  Moriarity paced the Raiders at the plate going 3-for-4 and scoring three runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.  Wissahickon couldn't get anything going as long as Moriarity was on the mound.  They managed just one hit off of Moriarity, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out four during his 2 2/3 innings of work.

The PV Raiders offense started out slow as Wissahickon took a quick 3-0 lead.  The Raiders finally got on the board in the bottom of the third when Gabe Kolb singled to right followed by an Adam Gaines walk.  Moriarity reached on a fielders choice at third then cleanup hitter John Turner steppped up and belted a deep shot to the right field corner which was mishandled allowing two runs to score.
