Perkiomen Valley Middle School West will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive, Jan. 24 from 3 to 8 p.m.
To make an appointment, follow these directions:
- Visit www.redcross.org.
- Click "Give Blood."
- Click "Make a donation appointment," then search by zip code.
- Enter our zip code, 19492.
- Find our school drive, Jan. 24, then click on the link to schedule an appointment.
Donating blood is a safe and simple process. You do not need to know your blood type before donating. After registering on the day of the drive, donors are given a mini physical to check temperature, blood pressure, pulse and red blood cell count, to ensure that it is safe for them to give blood. The actual blood donation typically takes about 10 to 12 minutes, and roughly one pint is given during a donation. You should plan for one hour for the entire donation process.
