St Eleanor Historical Lecture Series

Historical Lectures presented in Honor of St. Eleanor's 100 year Anniversary

When our parish was young, Collegeville was a summer resort town. Guests to the "Perky" were entertained on many evenings by the community and the college with community lectures, including speakers from Chautauqua programs, and movies in Trinity's Hendricks Hall - built for the community. On Saturday evening, August 13, we will recreate one such entertainment by providing our parishioners with an interesting program focusing on the history of the town of Collegeville and student life in the early days of Ursinus College. We are fortunate to have two very knowledgeable historians in our community, Pastor Martha Kriebel, Pastor of Trinity Reformed Church and C. Dallett Hemphill, Professor of History at Ursinus College. Their program will include many interesting photos and facts about our not-too-distant past.
