Penn State Cooperative Extension of Montgomery County will hold the 4-H Teen Veterinary Science course, open to teens 15 to 18 who are seriously interested in learning about veterinary medicine as a career.
The program will address preparing for a career, searching for a veterinary school, and give students a chance to experience some of the daily duties of a veterinarian or vet technician. Other topics include animal health, animal handling and safety, acupuncture, lab radiology and parasite control. Members of the Animal Medical Center have volunteered as instructors.
The course will be held Thursday nights from Feb. 3 through March 3 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Animal Medical Center in Trappe.

It is not necessary to be a 4-H member prior to the course, although students who participate in this course will be automatically enrolled as members for one year.
The Vet Science Course is looking for one parents who would like to stay and serve as an adult volunteer.
