Cosmos are a very delicate garden flower. It is a member of the sunflower family. Its name comes from the Greek word kosmos meaning beautiful. It is not a flower I typically use in wedding work because of it's delicate stem and oversized flower head. The colors that I see most often are pinks, whites, and a chocolate cosmos from California. They also come in reds and yellow. Cosmos are available from the end of June through August. They only have a vase life of 4-5 days.
I think cosmos is a very beautiful flower, but I hesitate to use it in wedding work because it does not hold up nearly as well as other flowers.
