Getting to Know Cut Flowers - Fuji Chrysanthemums

Fuji chrysanthemums, also known as spider mums,  are a wonderful, tall, full flower perfect for ceremony flowers and for  centerpiece work. These mums have a large single bloom on each stem which resemble spiders, hence their nickname.   They are a more inexpensive flower and pack a lot of color into  one bloom. Colors include lavender, yellow, white, green, pink, and bronze.  When you buy them, their heads should be wrapped in protective netting which you should remove.  Keeping them inside the netting will promote bacteria.  If cared for properly, these mums can last up to three weeks and are available all year.
