High School Girls Lacrosse: Vikings Honor Their Baker's Dozen of Seniors
Student athletes share memories and future plans as they are recognized by their teammates.
On Friday, Perkiomen Valley High School honored its senior girl lacrosse players as the Vikings hosted a Pioneer Athletic Conference game versus rival Spring-Ford.
Prior to the game, the seniors were introduced by the “Voice of the Vikings.”
As one by one the seniors and their respective parents traversed the centerfield line of Thomas J. Keenan Stadium, thoughts of games past and interacting with teammates conjured up memories.

“I will always remember getting Mexican food,” said Rachel Palumbo. “These girls are like sisters; we have played field hockey and lacrosse together for so long.”
There were 13 members of the class of 2011 who donned the orange and brown for the Vikings this season, and each has had an impact in her own way on the team’s success throughout the past four years.

Casey Bedard was first in the procession, followed by her teammates along with twin sister, Jenna, who got to conclude the celebration as the future plans of all 13 were announced. All of those plans included continuing their education next year at the college level.
Alexa Webb will more than likely attend East Stroudsburg next year and play lacrosse. Andrea Berenato, who scored the first goal of the game; Rachel Palumbo, who will be playing division one field hockey next year; and Alli Flitter were joined by Grace Malizia, who will be playing lacrosse next year at Bloomsburg. Amber Ganz, who is on the verge of scoring her 100th goal of her career; Dani Colburn; goaltender Kate Jacobson; Emily Hassinger; Taylor Hazzard; and Kristen Polaski will all be missed as they graduate and move on to the next stage of life.
If the way they conducted themselves on the field is any indication of the level of success they will achieve after they leave the confines of Perkiomen Valley High School, we can look to see great things in the future from a baker’s dozen of lacrosse players who are a class act.
