Local Teacher's Art in National Exhibit
Perk Valley High School Teacher Susan Klinger's art is being featured at the National Arts Club in New York City.

Local artist and Perkiomen Valley High School art teacher, Susan E. Klinger has had her work accepted into two exhibitions to be held at the National Arts Club in New York City. Showing currently for the month of September, Ms. Klinger’s pastel painting, “Coconut Palm II” is part of the 2012 Pastel Society of America
40th Annual Exhibition: Enduring Brilliance. Ms. Klinger’s piece is one of fewer than 180 artworks selected for exhibition from over 1000 submissions.
Founded in 1972 by Flora B. Giffuni, Pastel Society of America - the oldest existing pastel society in America - is largely responsible for the current renaissance of pastels in American art. The society's annual exhibitions at The National Arts Club in New York are the premier event for pastel artists in this country and abroad. Pastel Society of America encourages artistic advancement through prestigious awards distributed during its annual exhibitions.
For the month of October, Ms. Klinger’s pastel painting, “Coconut Palm”, the first in her palm series, will also be exhibited at the National Arts Club as part of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club 116th Annual Exhibition. This is an exciting exhibition of art in a variety of media by women artists competing
from all over the United States.
The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club is one of the oldest women’s art clubs in the country and was founded in 1896 in honor of Miss Wolfe, a prominent New York philanthropist and an avid art collector. She was the only woman among 106 founders of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The club’s focus is to serving
women artists of professional standing throughout the United States.
