Perkiomen Valley Schools Induct First-Ever Hall Of Fame Class
Nine individuals, ranging from a Nobel Prize winner to pro football players, were inducted as part of the first-ever Hall of Fame class.
COLLEGEVILLE, PA — The Perkiomen Valley School District inducted its first-ever Hall of Fame class last week, honoring those who have excelled in everything from professional football to international journalism.
The nine inductees, who are a mix of alumni and former employees, were enshrined at a reception on Oct. 12 in the cafeteria lobby. During the ceremony, the new Hall of Fame, which is in the gym lobby, was unveiled.
The following individuals were inducted during the ceremony:

- Joanne (Kehs) Conte – PV alum and award-winning track/field athlete
- Mary Fenstermacher – PV alum and champion field hockey coach
- William Fretz – Former champion PV football coach and athletic director
- Dr. Franklin Manley – Former PV teacher, coach and administrator
- Bill Neill – PV alum and award-winning football player
- Steven Rich – PV alum and award-winning journalist for the Washington Post
- Dave Roberts – PV alum and award-winning swimmer
- Jacqueline Trankle – Former PV high school secretary and mentor
- Grant Wiley – PV alum and award-winning football player
"The intent in the first year was to induct an impressive, large group of individuals to generate excitement and pride that will carry over into later years," the district said in announcing the first class.
In the future, the local community will have the chance to recommend Hall of Fame candidates.
