PVSD Schools Continue Upward Climb

The Pittsburgh Business Times ranked the top 500 Pennsylvania school districts according to PSSA scores. Perkiomen Valley ranked 44th.

The Perkiomen Valley School District has been ranked 44th out of 500 school districts in the state in performance on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment Exams (PSSA) by the Pittsburgh Business Times.  The district moved up from 2011, when it ranked 48th in the survey. In 2010, it ranked 52nd.

The rankings are based on three years of students' PSSA results, with the most recent year given the most weight. Five school districts in the greater Philadelphia region were ranked in the top ten. They were:

  • Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (#2)
  • Tredyffrin-Easttown School District (#3)
  • Radnor Township School District (#4)
  • Lower Merion School District (#8)
  • Central Bucks School District (#9)

Nearby, the , while Methacton ranked 23rd and North Penn ranked 33rd.

For the seventh straight year, the top-ranked school district in the state was Upper St. Clair School District in Allegheny County.
