St. Eleanor CYO Track & Field Results

Competed against more than 160 other CYO groups at Franklin Field on Saturday

St. Eleanor's CYO ran at Franklin Field in Philadelphia on Saturday to compete against over 160 CYO associations in Philly and the surrounding area. 

Some Archdiocese records were broken and more first places were achieved:

  • Matthew Dade - Shot put record. 
  • Stone Scarelle -1st place 400m 
  • Caroline Duffy - 1st place 100m 
  • Cadet Girls - record 4x200m and 1st in 4x100m

One victory was taken away when 10-year-old Jocelyn Rotay ran the mile in 5:40.

It was the third or fourth fastest time in the 30 years the records were kept, but Jocelyn was disqualified because on the straightaway she got confused and ran inside the cones for 5 or 6 strides. According to the rules, if no advantage is had, the runner should not be disqualified. The judges thought it may have occurred on the beginning of the turn, so they disqualified her. The coaches protested, but the judges said they could not overturn the initial call because no video was taken. Jocelyn wound up winning by over 7 seconds but will receive no credit. It was very disappointing.

Matthew Dade: Novice Boys Shot Put 1st Place - 31 feet 9.75 inches (new Archdiocese Record)

Ryan Dileva: Minor Boys Shot Put 5th Place

Caroline Duffy: Cadet Girls 100m 1st Place; Long Jump 2nd Place

Katie Ronca: Cadet Girls 100m 5th Place, Triple Jump 5th Place

Kyle D'Ambrosio: Long Jump 2nd Place, Triple Jump 4th Place

Stone Scarcelle: 400m 1st Place

Relays:

Novice Girls 4x200m 3rd Place: E. Fox, K. Schiele, D. Cordrey, K. Connor

Cadet Girls 4x200m 1st Place: G. Fazio, K. Ronca, A. Newman, C. Duffy - 1:48.96 (new Archdiocese Record)

Cadet Boys 4x200m 4th Place: E. Landherr, K. D'Ambrosio, E. Horrocks, S. Scarcelle

Novice Girls 4x100m 6th Place: E. Fox, K. Schiele, R. Guerra, K. Connor

Novice Boys 4x100m 6th Place: R. Daniels, B. Scarcelle, M. John, A. Bruno

Cadet Girls 4x100m 1st Place: G. Fazio, K. Ronca, A. Newman, C. Duffy
