Bridal Blossoms is an educational wedding seminar. I am a former teacher and one of the things I love to do is "teach" brides more about flowers so that they'll be more knowledgeable about their wedding flowers. Bridal Blossoms started after a bride came to me with a picture of a bouquet she found in a magazine. "I want that bouquet" she said. Unfortunately I had to tell her that the main flower that she loved was on the endangered species list and there was no way she could have it! Thus, Bridal Blossoms was born.
Each of four sessions takes place at a different beautiful, unique venue at a different time of year. In 2013 we were at Villanova Confernce Center, Bolingbroke Mansion, Duportail House, and Shearer Elegance B&B. This year we're excited to be at Faunbrook B&B on 2/2/14 and at Welkenweir in April. Each owner/manager will take you on a tour of their venue. All are capable of holding a wedding - of various sizes - as well as a rehearsal dinner or a shower.
Whimsical Welcomes Floral Designs will have samples of centerpieces and bouquets at all of my events. Sometimes I add cocktail table arrangements, cake decorating ideas, ceremony flowers, or placecard table arrangements - all spread throughout the venue. We then gather everybody up for our seminar - so if you come bring a notebook! I talk about choosing flowers wisely and how to save money while doing so.
Our wedding planner, Joelene Russell of In Your Shoes Events, gives some valuable advice about planning your wedding and again tips about how to save money while doing so.
Ron Dlutz of Dlutz Photography will talk about creative ways to make Save the Dates and Sign in Mats with photographs. He'll make recommendations of locations and even the type of apparel to wear for Engagement photos.
Chris Lauth has a unique business involving wedding stationary. She will design, with your input, placecards, table numbers, thank you notes, shower invitations, and more for you. She will then set up a DIY party (with all of her equipment) for you and whoever you choose to invite, and help all of you create your own exclusive paper goods. This is truly an innovative approach to personalizing your wedding.
And finally, at Faunbrok Maryellen Cakes & Candies will offer dessert for you! Yummy!
There will be a valuable door prize drawing for our businesses available - so stay until the end to participate.
And finally, there will be a $2.00 per person donation to the Elmwood Park Zoo. Recently the Zoo has sent out a plea for money. Due to the bitter cold weather, attendance is way down and they're running out of funds to feed the animals. All of the money will be given to the Zoo.
