Here are just 5 of the many reasons I developed Bridal Blossoms.
1. A September bride wanted to use flowering cherry blossoms for her centerpieces because she wanted to plant the branches after the wedding and grow trees.
2. Another bride brought me a photo of a bouquet in a bridal magazine that she wanted me to make for her wedding. Unfortunately I had to tactfully tell her that it was impossible to make that one because one of the flowers in it was on the endangered species list!

3. A lovely young lady wanted those blackberries she saw in a bridal magazine to be included in her bouquet. Why would any bride want berries that could burst open from a simple touch and drip staining juice on her beautiful wedding gown?
4. Stargazer lilies are gorgeous, but they can trigger an asthma attack! I suggested that bride consider lisianthus which has absolutely no scent and is perfect for someone with allergy sensitivities.

5. Sorry but I can’t get peonies in October – they’re not in season. But why don’t you take a look at Football Mums? They look a lot like peonies at a fraction of the cost.
Hello. I’m Leslie White owner of Whimsical Welcomes Floral Design, a home based design studio in Skippack, PA. I am a former elementary school teacher who in 2013 decided it was time to educate brides about wedding flowers. I wanted to make them a little more knowledgeable about their wedding flowers and also teach them valuable ways to save money on flowers and other aspects of wedding planning.
I hold these forums in various unique venues where brides can learn, ask lots of questions and take lots of notes. It is absolutely not a bridal show!!! I charge a minimal entry fee of $2.00 for the two hour event which goes directly to a charity of the venue’s choice. I want beautiful flowers to be available to every bride – not just those who have a lot of money to spend. My goal is to teach them how to make it so.
If you’d like to know more about my unique approach to wedding flowers and how Bridal Blossoms works, please contact me at WhimsicalWelcomes@yahoo.com. The next Bridal Blossoms will be held in Phoenixville at Columbia Station on Saturday, April 12th. Columbia Station is an historical train station event venue. More information about the event is on my blog: WhimsicalWelcomesflowers.blogspot.com
