Elizabeth Mamros, a sophomore at Peters Township High School, recently won a national college scholarship competition based on her creative idea about how to raise awareness of life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) in schools.
In her entry to the Get Schooled in Anaphylaxis Challenge™, Elizabeth developed the idea for “Take Time to Care, Make More People Aware of Anaphylaxis” an anaphylaxis awareness week featuring a different theme and activity each day.
In her entry, Elizabeth says, “This week will have made an impact on everyone in the school and help them to become more aware of anaphylaxis and its life-threatening consequences. With more people aware, more lives can be saved, and the world will be a better place.”
