Architect Hired To Design New Peters Township High School

The targeted completion date for the new building is October 2020.

PETERS TOWNSHIP, PA - Plans for the new Peters Township High School are advancing, as the district has hired an architectural firm for the project. Hayes Design Group of Robinson Township has been retained, with a construction manager expected to be hired by next month.

Hayes architects will be paid between $95 and $205 an hour for the design development phase for the school, which will be built on the 180-acre site of the former Rolling Hills Country Club on East McMurray Road. The district and the firm then will negotiate a lump sum fee for any additional services that might be required.

The anticipated construction completion date for $85 million, 285,000 square-foot, three story building is in October 2020, according to the contract between Hayes and the district.

The school district also has filed documents with the state that will allow it to receive as much as $10 million in reimbursement costs for the high school project.

The country club property is jointly owned by the school district and township. The township has hired an engineering firm to design a master plan to convert its portion of the property into what will be known as Peters Hill Park.Township officials recently moved forward with that project by approving plans to raze the clubhouse building.
