As a locally owned and operated financial institution, the Bank believes in listening to its customers and in giving back to its communities. Consistent with these core values, Washington Financial holds an annual campaign that gives its customers the opportunity to help allocate a portion of the Bank’s overall community giving called Customer Choice.
The following charities were Washington Financial customers’ top choices for 2013 (in alphabetical order): American Cancer Society, Brownson House, Child Evangelism Outreach, Citizens Library, Domestic Violence Services of SWPA, Faith in Action, Family Promise of SWPA, Habitat for Humanity, Hickory United Presbyterian Church, Make-a-Wish Foundation GPA & SWV, McMurray Lions Club, NAACP-Washington, Pet Search, Salvation Army, Washington Area Humane Society, Washington Christian Outreach, Washington City Mission, Washington County Food Bank, Washington County Marine Corps League, Washington-Greene Blind Association and Washington-Greene County Toys for Tots.
The funds donated to these charities will help provide counseling and meals to the homeless, aid cancer research, house animals, assist older adults and people with disabilities, supply relief from domestic abuse, build homes for the community and much more.
