Lashes, Curlers, Action: 'Legally Blonde' Preps for Show
An overview of what it's like to be a part of the hair and make-up crew for the high school musical, which opens Thursday.
OMIGOD, you guys! Thursday marks the opening night of ’s musical “.” —a brunette—is cast as blonde Elle Woods.
While the cast does an amazing job of memorizing lines and perfecting their appeal, the show would not be complete without the characters makeup. Since the musical is dealing with sororities and women, makeup and hair is a must-have.
Ferraco went so far as to die her hair blonde to fully become one with Elle Woods—that is dedication to the extreme in my book.

The make-up team consists of many talented students at PTHS, some of them being Abby Whalen and Gina Colosimo—with Emily Warne being added at the last minute.
“Our main goal is to make sure every single character looks perfect before they go on stage,” said Whalen.

The amount of makeup used on the actors and actresses is astounding.
“Up close (the characters) might look ridiculous, but on stage they look stunning,” said Warne, also a sophomore.
Without the hair and makeup, the characters would not be as interesting and complex. The details are what makes a show.
Meetings were held after school last week for anyone who was interested in joining the hair and make-up crew. At the meeting, they were told how to style every characters hair and how to perfect every characters makeup.
Without this crew, how could the show go on?
“It’s crazy, but it’s worth it because we make the show beautiful,” said Whalen. "I couldn’t have put it more perfectly myself."
The musical runs March 29, 30 and 31 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Adult tickets are $10. Student/senior citizen tickets are $5. Tickets must be paid for at time of reservation and will be available at will call. Click here for tickets.
