Pathfinders Vs. Peters Cheerleaders

The Special Olympics team and PTHS squads played softball Monday.

played a different role for a few hours and were finally taken off the sidelines for a softball game.

They faced-off against Pathfinder's Special Olympics team on Monday. Coached by Todd Shaffer and Jan Hirsh, the team consists of those with special needs ranging from teenagers to adults.

Although there was no definite score, it was clear the Pathfinders won.

Players from both teams arrived around 6:15 p.m. and practiced throwing and catching with one another—at 6:30 p.m. the real game began.

The cheerleaders gave it all they had, with freshman Malory Duane hitting an inside-the-park homerun. But, that was not enough.

The Pathfinders clearly won with their outstanding attitudes and impressive softball skills.

The PTHS cheerleaders spent the day with many amazing people and were glad to have the opportunity.

We hope to play more games against the team in the near future.
