Peters Township Republicans had a successful Petition event on Saturday March 2, at the Rolling Hills Country Club. Despite a dusting of snow from overnight, the event was well attended. Rebecca Bowman, candidate for school board, completely filled her petitions and had to leave early due to collecting too many signatures at
the event. That doesn't happen too often!
Interested voters dropped by between 11AM and 2pm and took the opportunity to meet incumbents and new candidates alike, with most voters preferring to interview candidates on the issues they wish to tackle in the next cycle. Additionally, the incumbents were questioned on their accomplishments during their tenure. There were two candidates onsite from PT council: Monica Merrell and Frank Arcuri. Frank also was one of the two notaries onsite that generously donatated his notary services to the many local candidates that had
petitions to file.
There were two county-wide candidates with petitions. First we have Lane Turturice for Washington County county Judge, the only Republican on the county Judge's slate. Next we have newcomer and businesswoman Angela
Carrier, from Peter's Township, running for Washington county controller.

With a stroke of luck and with the help of State Committee Chairwoman Albie Mercer, Statewide candidate Vic Stabile's schedule allowed him to be not only in Western PA on Saturday, but also attend the Peters Township petition signing event. He was very gracious and enthusiastic as he discussed issues with voters.
