Hopefully the winter snow has compressed the plant life in the meadows and the “invaders” will be easy to spot. Invaders? Not alien life forms, just saplings and woody shrubs! In order for the meadows to stay meadows, you have to intervene in the succession process. (That’s when the trees gradually return to take over the grassy areas) Bring your work gloves, loppers, tree pruners and bow saws as you form a tree-whacking conga line and keep our meadows critter-friendly!
