Cheerleading at the Middle School level is about having fun, learning the basic fundamentals of cheerleading, and determining a balance between the responsibility of academics and extra-curricular activities. To be a PTMS cheerleader, you must be dedicated, willing to work, and excited to support your sports teams.
All interested cheerleaders must attend scheduled cheer camps in August. The first is a three day camp where cheerleaders will learn the basic fundamentals of cheerleading, including conditioning, motions, jumps, and stunts. The second is a four day camp put on by the Peters Township High School cheerleaders. During this time, our MS cheerleaders will get an opportunity to work with and learn from the HS cheerleaders. Please see schedule below for specific time details.
If seriously interested in joining the cheerleading squad, please bring a parent/guardian and attend an informational meeting held in the Peters Township Middle School LGI on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 6:30pm. If you cannot attend the meeting, please email the MS cheerleading coach Melissa Giaquinto atgiaquintom@pt-sd.org.
