Peters Township: Learn to Swim

Program Information

Learn to Swim is designed for children ages 4 and up with the goal of teaching swimming skills from beginner through pre-club level swimming. Instruction is provided by Peters Township Swim Club members in small groups of 2-4 children, and supervised by certified coaches.  

Lessons are designed in progressive levels based on the American Red Cross standards. At each level, new skills are introduced and previously learned skills are reviewed. The prerequisite for each level is successful completion of the preceding level or instructor approval. Sessions

The summer 2012 program consists of two sessions that each include eight 30 minutes classes. All classes are held at the Peters Township High School indoor swimming pool. Parents and caregivers are welcome to observe lessons from the viewing area, but due to insurance regulations cannot be on the pool deck. In addition to instructors and coaches, swim club parent volunteers will be available on deck to help you and your child sign in each day and answer questions.

Cost (Per Session)

Residents: $90

Non-residents: $100

Class Dates and Times

Session 1: June 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 20, 21

Session 2: July 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19

Class Times: 3:00, 3:30 or 4:00 pm

Registration

Register online at www.ptsc.org/learn-to-swim. Class size is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Swimmers must be 4 years of age by the first day of the session they are attending (copies of birth certificates are required for new 4 year olds).
